baptism look up please - Anthony John Smith .abt 1825 Woolwich
« on: Tuesday 08 May 12 21:10 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I'm looking for baptism of my gt.gt. grandfather Anthony John Smith abt. 1825 Woolwich, Kent, his father was John Smith , Coach builder and mother was Maria Smith (formerly Pryor).

I'm not sure if this list also covers Brompton area but my gt.gt. grandfather had a sister Emily Smith, abt 1832 Brompton.

I've no idea if there were any other children, only Anthony and Emily appear on census records.

Thank you

Reeveh :)

is that Brompton, Middlesex or Brompton, Kent?  The latter probably isn't covered by the London Baptisms
Armstrong and Cotter (Co. Cork),  Cooper and Davidson (Aberdeenshire), Cosgrove (Co. Down/Co. Longford),
Cotter (London/Cornwall), Ker (Edinburgh/Roxburgh), Martyn (Cornwall), Orpen/Palmer (Co. Kerry), Pryn (Cornwall), Garnett/Radcliff (Co. Meath),
Wilkie (Roxburgh)

Hi, I'm so sorry for any confusion, I'm not familiar with the area.
I'm assuming it's Brompton Middlesex as the family were living in Kensington (according to the 1841 census) and place of birth for Emily is shown as Brompton Middlesex on 1851 census.

Both Anthony and his sister Emily were both married at Holy Trinity Church Bromton, Brompton rd, Kensington and Chelsea and I have a copy of both marriage records, just can't locate birth/baptism for Anthony John Smith

Thanks Reeveh
