Thomas GARNET & Mary PROCTOR Married 1884
« on: Tuesday 08 May 12 13:33 BST (UK) »
Hi,
In my quest to find the birth of my GGFather George Garnet, I would like to see if anyone has any info. on Thomas Garnet and Mary Proctor married 1884.

- This may be no connection for me but as you can see for the below highlighted cut out from NSW BDM there are 2 entries Thomas and George both with the surname Garnet spelt with 1x T and both married within 5 years of each other.
- Thomas was married in Woollahra (sydney NSW) and my GGFather George was said to be born in Parramatta (sydney NSW).
I would like to make contact with someone that may have info. abt Thomas and Mary so if they are not connected I can cross them of my list.
* neither birth of Thomas or George are recorded under NSW BDM only their marriages.

3046/1884  GARNET  THOMAS  PROCTOR  MARY A  WOOLLAHRA
5330/1889  GARNET  GEORGE  HILL  LOUISA  INVERELL  (this George is my GGFather)

Thank you in advance for your time
Susan

Hi

Do you have both these NSW BDM  mcs?  And if so then from their mcs please :
What names are given for the  parents of those two grooms?
What occupations for their fathers?
How old were the grooms?
Where were the grooms born and what were their occupations at marriage ?

Cheers JM

"my george garnet married 1889 with no parents named on the marriage certificate (presumed dead) I believe that when the parents were deceased they did not put the name on the married certificate. I still looking for when Margaret died to confirm if it was prior to my george garnet's  marriage to louisa hill on the 9/11/1889 NSW BDM 1889/005330"

Thanks Ros
RChatters are so generous

Hi Susan

May I suggest you consider the suggestions in the thread Ros linked for me...  The details re parents of the groom are part of what the clergy did ask and record ...

Cheers JM

Unfortunately http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,434575.msg2988194.html#msg2988194 was a brick wall for me as I ordered the Death Certificate for Margaret and unfortunately she did not have a child call George - therefore for me this tread is from a different line.
I will give Ros link a shot.
Thank you
Susan
