BAXTER
« on: Tuesday 08 May 12 08:58 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have information on the Baxter family from Kent : Samuel -> Samuel (2) -> Samuel (3)/ William -> Samuel (4) -> Frederick William (emmigrated to South Africa) .
Early Samuels were land estate agents / auctioneers / historian (reporter) / farming , all in Kent .
Regards
Kevin Baxter

Hi Kevin

Thank you for the dates it helps laugh.

Think this is your Samuel 2 and his family including Samuel 3

Samuel Baxter born 11th August 1786 and chris 17th Sept 1786
Richard                                         1787
Robert                      8th Nov        1787               9th December 1787
Margaret                                      1788                      1789
Thomas                    14th Nov     1790
Richard                     9th Aug        1792                21st Aug 1792
William                      15th June     1794                13th July 1794

parents Samuel Baxter and Margaret
Some are christened at Chiselhurst and two are at Chelsfield
Two Richards so the 1787 must have died young.

I have looked for a marriage of Samuel and Margaret but cannot find them.

Hope this starts your search

Kevingb

Are you still looking for information on the Baxters? They are part of my tree via your Samuel snr's brother William.

I have only started doing this recently but I do have some information I inherited from my late father when he was researching including a hand written tree drawn out by "Uncle Will" William Baxter's Grandson (also William Baxter) and therefore your Baxters' cousin so I may be of some help.

Hi Seaker ,

Great news to finally find another Baxter searcher !!! Thought I was the only one .
I have heaps of info and will gladly share with you .
I suggest that we do it via email as I have laid it all out in 'story form' with the relevant bmd certs applicable to each person .
Are you happy to do it this way ?

Hi Seaker

Welcome to Rootschat.

You have to do at least 3 posts on Rootschat before you can do a private
e mail to anyone.  So if you do 2 more post you can then communicate with
Kevin as we are not able to put the e mail addresses on line.
Hope you both find the information you require and its great to
find a distant cousin. ;)

My bad, Sandymc

I was trying to add to the Baxter thread, obviously got that wrong!

Will go and do another couple of posts and try and get it right!
