Eva's birth 1909 was registered in Otaki.

John Howard and Frances Andrew are on ER for  1911 at Otaki, where he is a storekeeper at Manakau. By 1928 he is a draper in Palmerston North.

The only Eva Andrew that shows on ER after 1930 is a married woman in Oamaru.
There is no obvious marriage or death of your Eva Andrew that I can see.

I suggest checking the death notice for John Howard Mollet Andrew in 1959, or Frances Ethel in 1969 to see if Eva is mentioned, otherwise purchase one of their death printouts. He and Frances Ethel are both buried at Purewa.

Thank you John.  ;) I do appreciate it. I will look in the death notices. Is the best place Papers Past?
Thanks again

Hi Tiki

Unfortunately PapersPast won't be of help.   Only the "Auckland Star" is available and it's coverage doesn't extend beyond 1903.   :(
[Usually when a death notice is sought (of the era you are wanting), where a funeral director's details are available, then a direct approach to them is the first "port of call".
There are though a small band of volunteers on here who have access to newspapers, and are often willing to do look-ups.   Please see the further information given in the Resources Section of this (NZ) board. ]

PS :  I'm going to be in the vicinity of the Nat. Library sometime this week, so if time permits, will look for a death notice of one of the parents (or a sibling), to see if there's a mention of Eva.  (Like John B. previously, I've not been able to find any trace of Eva in NZ, so far. )   ~  Lu

Hi Leanne,

I will be going to the library in the next week or so and will look for some of the extended Robinson family death notices.

Cheers Janette

Hi Leanne

Eva ANDREW

As none of us had found any leads to Eva in adulthood, the next thing to check was, had she died shortly after her birth ?

Sadly, that seems to have been the case.   Quite often, if a child was just days old, and it's birth hadn't yet been registered, then birth and death would be registered at the same time.
And for some inexplicable reason, sometimes it is found in the Birth / Death indexes, that only one "event" has been "officially" recorded !

Eva's birth 1909 was registered in Otaki.

John Howard and Frances Andrew are on ER for  1911 at Otaki, where he is a storekeeper at Manakau.

John B's info above, was helpful in finding Eva.  ;)

Though she is not named specifically as Eva, you can see her burial at the following site -- shown as >

ANDREWS - Infant - aged 2 days
Date of Death/or burial or cremation :    4 April 1909

[The NZSG Burial Locator gives -- ANDREW - Baby - 1909 ]

http://www.horowhenua.govt.nz/Online-Services/Cemetery-Search/

[The online BDM has birth of Eva ANDREW registered as 4 April 1909 - though it seems if 2 days old at death, her true birthdate was probably 2nd April. ? ]

PS :  Death notices for her parents, to follow.

Leanne ... in the meantime, you might like to read this ?   ;)

A report on the wedding of John Howard ANDREW and Miss ROBINSON.  (How quaint.   :D )

[The dates for the "Auckland Star" have been extended to 1926 ... and went live at P/past just a few hours ago. ]

Nice work, Lu.

Good to see yet another 'mystery' solved  ;D
and how important it is to record every little clue!
