Victorian birth Horace Edwin POLLOCK lookup please

I have a copy of a birth certificate for Horace Edwin Pollock born in Borough of Koroit, County Villiers Vic, father Anthony Pollock (from Co Londonderry Ireland) and mother Harriet (Cornwall England). The copy was issued in 1914 and all the dates in the certificate have been tampered with, presumably so that Horace could go off to war? The date is 18_5 - one number missing. So too is the number for the parents marriage: 18_3.
I am also interested in the marriage details, I think this is Anthony's 2nd marriage; I'd like to trace back his Irish roots. Hopefully someone can help - I keep coming up blank in my searches. thanks Mc

They were married in 1873 #3340 with her surname at marriage as McLachlan. Anthony was born in Londonderry Harriet in Cornwall

Harriet had married John Cumming McLachlan in 1858 #3280

can't see a death for him.

Horace would have been  39 in 1914 and most likely wanted to appear younger.

Searching  the NAA I cannotsee a WW1 Record for Horace Pollock

No I dont think so, the certificate I have definitely lists parents as Anthony and Harriet. Although oddly I do know that the generation born in 1930's all had the in initial H.E.R. Pollock - both males and females. I'm not sure where this certificate came from as it was in my husbands records...hmmm maybe the H.E.R. reference is relevant? Just when you think you have the answers... :-)
