Bate
« on: Friday 04 May 12 11:14 BST (UK) »
Hi  :)
Can anyone help me as to where to go next please?

I am researching a Joseph BATE.
He was married (aged 33 and listed as a miner) in 1915 in North Featherstone to a Emily LOWE.
He died in 1947 in Featherstone. No DOB on certificate.

His father, according to his marriage certificate, was a miner called John BATE.

What I am trying to do is locate Joseph's  birth, I don't know where he was born and there are several births with this name around 1882, none of which are around the Yorkshire area.
How do I go about hunting his birth?  What/where should I try next? ???

On marriage entry to Emily Lowe he is descibed as "bachelor"

I wondered if any of witnesses were related - one witness is Percy Williams -the other is too faint to read -it could be l???? Bate - is it any clearer on the marriage certificate, Loopylil?
