I can see the children for George & Nancy Bairstow (nee Frith)  (not Sarah) as unfortunately the registers end before she was born but the others are there, not sure if you want them ? if you do more than happy to list them.

I also wonder whether Joseph Wilkinson married again? there is a Joseph Wilkinson (Weaver) and his wife Nancy Wilkinson daughter of James Smith baptising their children in the Queenshead Baptist Chapel in Clayton and what is particulary interesting is that the service for the baptism of their son James in 1820 was conducted by Jonathan Bairstow   the name Bairstow has already cropped up in the earlier census when 'neice' Sarah Bairstow aged 11 is living with William & Sarah.

Could that be this Joseph and Nancy living Swamp, Northowram in 1841 ?
Joseph 50
Nancy 48
John  21
James 20
Martha  18
Jonas 15
Mary 13
Nancy 10

(Where did you find this baptism, I only ask as I think this is part of OH's family  ;) )

Sorry bloogy I was getting side tracked  ::)
Thank you Captain2 for clarifying that.  ;D  OH = my other half who has James Wilkinson bn c1813 Swamp, father Jonas in his tree. I just thought that Joseph could be related as they are living very close in 1841.  ;D

Back to looking for bloogys family,

Rosie

sarah wilkinson age 59. b. thornton. occ. house keeper. mother in law.(i think this is another way of saying stepmother)(widowed)

That is exactly what it is; and of course that is exactly what she was legally. This shows how usage of words has changed in a comparatively short space of time 150 years or so. Well to remember that when transcribing older documents.
