In the skype application, have you checked the video settings? You will find them under tools>options

Yes, have checked them.   When I go into video settings I see my ugly mug looking back at me, didn't realise I was looking me age so much.

FYI for others, I have just had a Skype conversation with Barrie, he could see me :-\ but I couldn't see him  :(

We went through the video setup and it all appears ok.

Barrie, I have just tried calling myself on my ipad from my husbands' laptop and when "he" calls me, the little video window is initially blank, I then reselected the webcam from the drop down menu and the video started streaming properly. there is only one which is internal to the laptop. You may want to try that.

Don't know if the latest version of  Skype has the same layout though.

Jenny

The drop down box gives me two choices  "webcam 101" which is the camera on my laptop, and "cyberlink splitter"

Which ever one I select, I can see an image of myself.    I have had the first one selected, should I perhaps be using the second?

Certainly worth a go

You might have to go into cyberlink app and see what it says and what the default is pointing to?

Ah... Think that is the problem, some other forums are saying you have to select the cyberlink splitter for skype or msn video calls

Selecting the cyberlink splitter appears to work though my internet was playing up ;D

FYI, I have also just read that if you press fn +f6 function keys it toggles the webcam on/off.
