Lord of All Hopefulness ...
Yes, the overwhelming joy and trust of that hymn is so much in tune with our darling Rabbit's spirit.
I'm glad there was sunshine and birdsong.

Thank you jmp for updating us about Rabbit's service.  It sounds like it was really lovely and in keeping with the happy spirit of Rabbit herself  :)

To Helen, your mother was much loved and respected by us here on Rootschat as is evident by all these messages. She will definitely live on in all our hearts!

Thanks jmp for posting the order of service complete with the lovely photo of Jan - what kindness and humour is there in her eyes.

I'm so glad the day has gone so well, complete with the blackbird - she would have loved that.

Thanks Jan for all emails that I could never quite keep up with, the common sense, the friendly advice and concern you showed me.  As with so many other people I'm going to miss you.

I'm so glad that the service etc went well and thank you for letting us see the service and most of all reading the poem that I posted. What a lovely setting for your Mum to rest in.
regards

I've been at a complete loss for what to say because this came as such a shock. Hoping you don't mind me adding something at this late date, but Jan was also an extremely good restorer and I wasn't the only person who thought that, as this link proves.

Dear Helen, your lovely mum was in a lot of discomfort when she very kindly restored this photograph for me and I'll treasure it.

Oh dear. I am the sort of rubbish friend who lets the weeks go by without telephoning and so I have only just found out by speaking to Paul. She had so much energy and interest in everything that I was sure she was going to bounce back soon and the flood of emails resume. The order of service for the funeral was just the thing and I am sorry to have missed the event.

It is sad when death takes away someone we love but, as long as we live, it cannot take away our happy memories and I hope all of us, especially her family, can take comfort from these memories and and of course remember to do what she told us to do.
