Hello all
Just to let you know myself and Glencare were privileged to attend Jan's funeral today. It was a lovely service conducted by a wonderful vicar with a strong clear voice and a sense of humour! The church is as Glen said " a proper church" set opposite a duckpond in a little village with a primary school next to it. Sorry I cant find a picture at the moment, but it has the most wonderful Yew arch as you go in. Helen read Ed's poem without a hitch, although I must say it brought a lump to my throat even though I had read it before. As the coffin was being removed from the church a blackbird started singing as if to welcome her. The internment took place in a lovely well maintained graveyard next to the church. With the birds twittering in the trees and the children from the primary school at playtime next door it is a very "happy place" to be laid to rest.
After the service Glen and I got to talk to Helen and Richard, Jan's children, and also to Jan's brother in law. We also met Molly and Megan, two lovely little girls. I told Helen that you had been posting messages today and no doubt she will get around to looking at them in due course. I also asked if I could put up the order of service and as such attach it so everyone who wasn't able to make it can see it. Just hope that my computer skills work

Although we didn't get to speak to Paul, as he was speaking to other members of the congregation and Glen and I weren't able to return to the house afterwards due to work commitments, I asked that Helen passed on all our messages of support for the family and hope that they join us on the board again soon even if it is just to say "Hello"
