Hi nashy, I have just looked at marriages on the Sussex Family History Group. I found 2 entries. The first was the Archdeaconry Mariage Licence it was dated 23/4/1717 his wife was Susan Brown. The second was 23/4/1717 in Fernhurst. This gives his wife as Susanna Brown. It gives Lodsworth as the residence of Matthew and Petworth for Sussana. The other information is - just as it is written - Sponsors ss.MN:Jn Baker Fernhurst. I hope this is of help to you. Poppyann
