Found 110 Hugh Rd Ilford on 1911 census and living there was Frederick Kelf a PHOTOGRAPHER !
I looked him up on google and found he was described as a successful south London Photographer - from Great Yarmouth - his brother Walter was a well known photogapher as well. BUT I see no sign of Frederick being in London in 1901

I don't think that Walter's brother was a photographer
I am researching early East London and Essex Photographers and have found several ‘Kelf’s’ who were photographers.
Walter Kelf (1876 in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk – 2 Feb 1923 in Chichester) his brother - Frederick Joseph Kelf (b. 1870 in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk) seems to have be involved in the Timber Trade, as does not show up as a photographer also he appears not to have travelled to London.
There is a
Frederick Kelf (b. abt 1868 in Great Yarmouth) who was a Photographer at Pier Avenue, Clacton-on-Sea (c. 1902) and then Brentford, Middlesex and in 1911 at Ilford, Essex.
His address is given on the back of the photographAlso a
Frederick Robert Kelf (b. abt 1869 in Great Yarmouth) who was a Photographer in Dulwich (1891) and a Photographic Assistant in Islington (1901). He seems to have gone into partnership with George W R Holden-Tooley in Brixton, Lambeth from 1892 – 1893 (according to PhotoLondon website).
While all these Kelf’s were all born in Great Yarmouth around the same time, they all have different parents, grandparents and great grand parents. It seems odd that while their families all lived in the Yarmouth/Norwich area, at present I can find no connections between them?
If anyone has info on the Kelf Family and can connect these different photographers I would appreciate it.
