Can anyone help - Sapper I A Wheal 1892

Hi
This photo was sent to our Facebook group by someone that had been to Egypt on holiday as we're all ex-Sappers - would be great if we could find his records and then find his ancestors and give them a copy of this photo.
Can any of your experts help?

The "engraving" says (but it looks like he made a mistake on the H)

Are you able to find out any more, maybe his Army Records, Unit he was with etc?

Would you be able to go down his family free to see who his living relatives are?  We could then surprise them with the photo of what he carved in a monument in Egypt...
