I wonder if anyone can help me to find the orphanage to which 4 boys (Alfred Bond, Arthur Bond, William Bond and George Bond) were sent in 1862 on the death of their mother Sarah Keturah Bond at Hallow Worcester.

The City & County Orphan Asylum, St John's Worcester may have been a possiblity although the boys are not listed as being pupils there on the 1871.  There is an entry for a nurse-child  in the 1871 for a George Bond aged 12 born Harlow, Worc. in the family of Richard Hinch and his wife Ann RG10/3043/F if is this of interest to you

Hello and welcome to RootsChat
I think the census Captain2 has given is 1861 -not 1851?

I wonder if they did go into an orphanage ? Do you have any definate information that they did??

It seems by 1871 Alfred Edward was in Shrewsbury working as a baker's assistant, Arthur Theodore was in Craven Arms Salop working as a boot boy at the craven Arms Hotel,William Frederick was in Hallow at Hallow Green Malt House working as a bakers assistant , and it seems George Thomas was a nurse child with the Flinch family in hallow

maybe they lived with local people?? Caroline Morgan who was a lodger with the Bond family in 1861 (along with her young son) married james Pugh in 1862 and stayed in Hallow -maybe they helped out ??

Have you found Grandparents and aunta and uncles and ruled them out???

I know exactly what you mean - I put my son's birth down as 1875 the other week LOL!

Many thanks for your replies. Arthur Theodore was my wife's great grandfather and she believes that he was in an orphanage in Liverpool or Manchester from the age of about 10. He fathered a son in 1877 (also named Arthur) but unable to find mother or location. He was married in 1879 to Eleanor Jones in Highbury London.

The 1879 marriage

10 September St Augustine's Church, Highbury

Arthur Theodore Bond, full age, bachelor, Signal-man, residence Swansea, father William Bond, Shoemaker (deceased)

Eleanor Jones, full age, spinster, no occ, 2 Balfour Road, Highbury New Park, Jonathan Jones, Tailor & Draper (deceased)

After banns

Witnesses: Eliza Davies & William Arthur Jones

It will be almost impossible to find an illegitimate birth in the index unless you know the mother's surname.
