Hi Sandra

I cannot thank you enough for all your hard work on my behalf and that obituary was a bonus giving me the place of Liverpool to look for his birth.

Your efforts are much appreciated.

regards

SS City of New York did arrive on the 22 October 1891 but the only Arnolds mentioned travelling from Liverpool were James Arnold - 32 years - American and Charles Arnold - 33 years - American.
The nearest spelling I could see was Joseph Arndt - Aged 19 years born England  - tailor -  ???

Hi Sandra

Thank you for the Naturalization details and for looking up the sailing from Liverpool of Joseph Arndt age 19.  I think that could be him because I have a vague recollection that the family were known as Arndt but changed it to Arnold to sound more English.

I will see if I can find more informationon the ship manifest if I can access those records.

If the family are going under Arndt - here they are in 1891 - 25 Crown Street. West Derby. Liverpool. Joseph's occupation matches the passenger list - all born Germany.

Charles Arndt 59 Warehouseman
Polona Arndt 55
Joseph Arndt 17 Tailor
Doral Arndt 19
Lena Arndt 15 Dressmaker
Rose Arndt 9
Sarah Arndt 6
