Normally if they die in Aberdeen there is still a way it can be registered in Banffshire but I don't think hers was which was quite strange.
Not in 1962.

Until quite recently a death always had to be registered in the district in which the death took place.

That's why it's always worth a look in a nearby city if you can't find a death where you expect it, because the person may have been taken into a large hospital in the city and died there.

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
