Who is the postcard from?

Hi,

I'm trying to discover who the sender of this postcard might be. It was sent to Miss Edith Nellie Peachey but I can't work out who signed it. There seems to be 3 dots/stops under the first 3 letters?

Who ever he was he was on active service, I'm trying to find any clue which might lead me to the sender of the postcard.

They look to me like four initials with dots between each.    C.E.G.G or G.E,G,G

It looks like initials CEGG to me.

He calls Edith just E at the beginning so I think using his own initials at the end makes sense.

Yes, thats what I thought. We have no idea if Edith ever married though I did find a marriage of an Edith Peachey to a Cecil Ayling and wondered if it could have been signed Cess. The marriage was in September 1918 and by chance army records indicate he left the army about this time so it would have fitted in niceley......... but I think you're both right. C.E.G.G.


Edith was always known simply as Miss Peachey to friends and wondered if she secretly married/had a secret love. Strange he didnt just sign his name dont you think?

Wonder if it's possible to find out the name of the regiments serving here in July 1920 (Stamp date on card)
