Patrick Welch
« on: Thursday 26 April 12 01:39 BST (UK) »
Hi I was wondering if anyone might be abe to help me find out some information about Patrick Welch(e.g Marriage, death etc).

He was born in 1861 in Chester
His father was David Welch and his mother Mary Welch both were born in Ireland 1841

David & Mary also had 4 daughters:
Ann - 1866
Mary - 1868
Catherine - 1873
Ellen - 1875

I'm fairly certain that all the information that I have so far is correct, but I can't seem to find much out about Patrick (or Mary if I'm honest) so was wondering if anyone else might have any luck.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me
Craig

Hi Craig,
I have a Patrick Walsh / Welch / Welsh in my tree which I believe is the same person. I believe he was born on Boxing Day 1857 in Chester and baptised on 3rd Jan 1858 at St Werburghs  RC church. His father David Walsh is my GGG Grandfather who was born sometime between 1832 - 1837 in Barryroe, Lislee, Cork, Ireland.

I have more info on Patrick and his 6 siblings (your names tie in) but the bare bones are available on my trees on Ancestry and Tribal Pages.

How are you related to Patrick?

regards

Hi

Patrick is my great great grandmother Catherine's brother, so i guess that would make David my GGG Grandfather too.

I have been trying to find out more about the Welch/Welsh/Walsh's as I don't really have very much.
Probably doesn't help that the surname changes all the time.

I have Catherine Welsh aka Kate as being born in Chester on the 8th August 1871 and being baptised at St Werburghs on the 13th August.
Who did she marry and where?
Take a look at http://theshepherdtree.tribalpages.com for more info but it does need updating.
I do hope we can share trees as I have lots of info for you - watch this space!

I wonder how Catherine ended up in Walworth  ???
Do you have a tree on the web anywhere I could look at?

I've just looked at the marriage entry on A******y and Catherine states her father is deceased.
I have her father David as dying on 24 Jul 1901 at 33 Parrys Entry, Foregate Street, Chester.

How did you connect this Catherine to brother Patrick and siblings in Chester?
I'm not convinced this is the same girl  :-\  as 'Kate' is in Chester on the 1901 census and is single.

I think your Kate was born in Bermondsey abt 1872 with parents of the same name i.e. David & Mary.
Siblings were Richard and Margaret per the 1881 census.
