I am researching John Connick who died in 1919 and his parents. According to the death registry his father was also John Connick and his mother was Matilda Thomas.
However I am having trouble finding anything on Matilda Thomas/Connick

Yes, John Connick was the father of Edward Victor Connick who died in WW1. How I wish I had a photo of the Edward and his brother Harry before they went to war. Neither returned.

I am researching John Connick's father who also was called John Connick and married to Matilda Thomas.

Do we know where John Connick was born, maybe he migrated to Australia and was born in Overseas. Do you have his death cert it may show where he was born, and then we would have some clues of where is parents lived.

I did not know that there some records missing from the Qld BDM index, which would explain a lot. Have searched the immigration records and come up with nothing. So my only hope is that some how the name Matilda Thomas will be a key in finding John Connick.
