Why not try ringing Lancashire Record Office at Preston to see if they have any records. They're very helpful and if they don't have any records they may know somewhere else they could be held.

hi aggie and tina, why back in april i told you about my gt grand -father who was in st vincents home fulwood and you both abvise me to ring the office at preston, i did  and they had his records  from when he was 8,(i was very happy with that!) until his discharge to fr berrys home ,dont know how old he would be? he was in a place called Layfield from when he was born so i would love to find all i can about that, do i go to cen- lib for that or where .so thank you both so much for your help.shela
