Arm badges me old mate...

This rings a bell...I will dig when I can...
One more charge and then be dumb,
When the forts of Folly fall,
May the victors when they come
Find my body near the wall.

Thanks for your replies and suggestions. There is a possibility that the photograph is that of William Allwood who was a Quarter Master in the Earl of Chester Yeomanry Cavalry from 1862 to about 1875. Would these dates fit in with the style of uniform or the Volunteer Regiment

Good evening,

The short answer is no, the style of uniform is too modern for those dates. I would say the previous date of the 30s is nearer the mark. Have looked at the Corps of Commissionaires but not them either.

Good evening,

If you scan the back and post it that will be a great help for dating.

Thanks for your replies John915. I will scan the back of the post card but it has come out of a photograph album and is damaged.

Good evening,

I knew it would'nt take long for one of our experts to give us a date. However it's a little earlier than expected so if you're watching scrimnet, give us a date for that tunic. Also, can anyone make out what the embossed writing bottom left says. I've tried enlarging but it pixilates too much for me to read.
