Hi tofrek

Is there also a connection to Lanarkshire (as you've posted this in the Lanarkshire board, whilst Greenock is in Renfrewshire).

Do you have a maiden name for Bella (who could be for eg, Isabella)?

What about Joseph, any more details on him such as pob and age?

Cheers

Hello. Sorry about that. Wrong board.  I have just discovered an address at 15 Gilmour Street, Greenock for Joe and Bella (don't know if this is short for Isabella but it was always Bella in the papers I have seen) in 1927.  Her maiden name was Moon.

A basic search on Scotlands People has one match for a male Stirling to female Moon marriage in 1896 but does not match to it being a Joseph or Isabella so perhaps they married in Ireland

I see her birth was registered as Bella MOON, Coleraine , Sep Qtr 1895

In Irish Census 1901 with her parents & 7 siblings and again in 1911.
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/

The Ireland Civil  Marriages Index, has :
Bella MOON
Joseph STIRLING
Coleraine - Sep Qtr 1920
Vol 1, page 767

So they were not married until 1920.
Unlikely perhaps to be in Greenock in 1915?

What information  are you after concerning this couple?
Do you already know more abt Joseph? Or their children (but don't mention any details of living/possibly living people here!)

Cheers

possibly Josephs parents with one daughter Margaret on 1891 census
living Belville street Greenock
again close to Gilmour street
gives both parents place of birth as Co/ Derry
both aged 27 which would give them a birthdate of around 1864
I really think you would need to obtain a copy of the deaths certs
to make sure this is the right family
