Hi Monica,

I got Maggie McMenemy Grattan's death 1886 and also Bridget Grattan 1886.
I also got Edward's 2nd marriage to Margaret Murray in 1888.

They both share the same Christian name......or am I missing something?

Great that it all firms up Swally.

The only point I was making is that the 1891 census shows Edward's wife as Margaret aged 35 and born in Rutherglen which fits well with the details for Margaret McMenemy from 1881 - except we now know that Margaret McMenemy had died in 1886. Edward's second wife whom he married in 1888 shows younger and born in Cambusnethan in 1901.

Just one of those wrinkles on things we see. The key thing as always are the BMDs which you have now  :)

My grattan family lived in willowbank terrace , Alexander street
James Grattan married Mary Lavery 24 February 1905 and their first child Rose was born in Auchterderran Fife 15 November 1905   They returned to cambusnethan before the birth of their daughter Margaret who was born in craigneuk in 1912.  They moved to willowbank terrace before James Grattan was born there in 1915.  So this would be the entry of J Grattan in the wishaw directory of 1922
