Re: Cambusnethan burials -
Looks like you're in luck. The records I have finish at 1917 so can't help with the 1937 burial but this is what I found.
The lair is E379. I found 3 internments but there will be more (Margaret McMenemy should be in there).
EDWARD GRATTAN, coalminer, Cambusnethan, aged 15 years, unmarried.
Parents - Edward Grattan & Margaret McMenemy.
Interred 8th December 1898.
EDWARD GRATTAN, miner, Cambusnethan, aged 42 years, married.
Parents - John Grattan & Agnes Hamilton.
Interred 18th September 1899.
ANDREW GRATTAN, Chapel, aged 1 year & 7 months.
Parents - John Grattan & Mary Murray.
Interred 28th December 1907.
Also found this one in the common ground register, no obvious connection apart from the name but it must be the same family I think.
STILLBORN MALE GRATTAN, Wishaw.
Parents - John Grattan & Agnes Ross.
Interred 25th April 1874.
Just checked the IGI,
THOMAS GRATTIN. Born 20th march 1855 at Kilmarnock.
Parents - John Grattin & Agness Hamilton.
If you can connect this birth to your family the 1855 certificate will give you all the extra information because it was the 1st year of statutory registration.
The IGI also has this entry -
THOMAS GRATTEN. Born 4th September 1872 at Cambusnethan.
Parents - John Gratten & Agnes Ross.
it seems to be an Irish surname, I checked the 1851 Lanarkshire census index and there are no Grattans of any spelling there.
My 1922 Wishaw street directory has this entry -
J. GRATTEN, Willowbank Terrace, Alexander Street.
