hello those people interested in information concerning thomas easterby of kirkbymoorside.
thomas as you will know was sent to tasmania as convict in 1852. he married bridget stanton a free woman fron county clare ireland and had one child albert. thomas lived near gunning nsw and died there in 1890 of a heart problem. his wife lived on with her son and they had a sheep farm at oolong nearby.
bridget lived till 1925 and died at the age of 95. her son albert and his wife annie ryan carried on the farm. albert and annie had 5 children 3 girls and 2 boys. 2 of the girls became nuns one boy tom did not marry. the other albert jnr the youngest married but dissappeared in the 1940's.he left his wife and 3 children. 2 boys and a girl.i am still in contact with them.the other girl bridget was my grandmother. she had one daughter only, my mother. i do have some photographs if anyone is interested.
i do have some data on easterby births in kirkbymooreside going back to 1734

Hello Lesj. I have read with interest your post below and would be very interested in the photographs you mentioned. I believe I must be a cousin of yours as I am a grandson of Albert Jnr and my father was born in Gunning.

Any further information or photos would be very welcome.

                     i noticed your inquiry some time ago but forgot where i had seen it.
 my email address is * and my name is les joyce. i do keep in some contact with des easterby who lives in the nowra district since he left goulburn where he was for many years.
 i do have some old photos of the farm cottage at oolong with a number of resident on the front porch. also a number of others. i am interested to know who your parents were. my grand mother was bridget easterby, daughter of albert snr and annie catherine ryan.
