3rd Scottish Rifles 1901

Hi,
Anyone got any idea where I can find out more about 3rd Scottish Rifles who were in Milton Barracks, Gravesend at time of 1901 census? Am trying to research my grnd uncle who was lost on Titanic and can find him in 1891 and 1911 census but struggling in 1901. Possibly in Scottish Rifles.

Thanks for the replies.
His name was Alexander Milne Cairns, born in Perthshire in 1883. In 1911 census is a butler living in London, and sailed on Titanic as a manservant to William Ernest Carter of Philadelphia but did not survive.
Any info welcome!

Possibly A Cairns 2943( PROBABLY 2973 bad transcribing!!)  3rd Scottish Rifles on the Ancestry South Africa Medal Rolls. Kings and Queens South Africa Medals.
