Hi poobear,
May I ask when/where your James was born?
There is some conflicting info from other Shaw descendants in my Family that my John Shaw had a Brother James that came to NZ with him.

James Shaw was born in Kilsyth, Scotland and came out to NZ in 1860's. He did have a brother David Shaw also in NZ and had a brother John Shaw who went to Australia.

Hi kglm,
I is advisable to order a printout rather than a certificate,A) it is cheaper and B) is usually has more information
From BDM
What is a printout?
Generally a scanned image of the record.
It is in a typed format for an event from 1998.
It is also typed for earlier records which have been updated or corrected.
What is a certificate?
Is an official document containing registered information.
A certificate contains less information than a printout.
The costs are here

Many thanks for the repiles to this thread. My problem is on their death printouts. It only states Auckland for the burial, there is no mention of any cemetery.
