Thanks Janet,

I have posted before Im looking for James Shaw died 1883 died in Auckland and his wife Ellen Shaw died 1892 in Auckland.

They are a complete mystery to where they are burried??  I was just wondering if there was a list of cemeteries around that time.

Spades beat me to posting the link ;D

In the previous post Althea's Reply #20, is there a way of asking the FD Society (or what it is called) if they would have on their records, who might have bought the undertaker Meachem out?   Janette any ideas?

I see by this article in Paperspast the inquest was held at the Oretia (probably now called Oratia) Hotel

http://www.rootschat.com/links/0l5m/

It also says he was travelling from the Henderson railway station to his residence,I suspect the minister probably travelled to Henderson to conduct the service.

It may be worth contacting the office at Waikumete Cemetery and asking them about the cemeteries mentioned in the previous thread,I know Swanson has some old graves at the front.
Another thing you could do is to have a good look on G**gle maps around the area he lived,I have found small cemeteries that way,

There is a small cemetery called Oratia Cemetery at 541 West Coast Road,Shaw Road meets West Coast Road about 100 meters away, definitely worth looking into

Re complete list of Auckland Cemeteries...
KiwiCelts has all known
different ways of viewing if you enter Auckland
http://nzcemetery.kiwicelts.com/nzCemDatabase/NZcemMap.html
you will then have the list on the left that you can click on to view what is available

Alternatively you can click on the list tab and sort as you choose

Bye
