I had a look at:
http://www.geopatronyme.com and from 1891 to 1915 as well as Paris there were some Gord births registered in Saint Denis, nearby.

They married 26 September 1885. Louis' parents are given are Andre Louis Francois Gord, deceased in Paris, 10th Arrondissement (I think), 1872, and Marguerite Henriette Pfisterer, his widow, aged 61, living in London, England (!).
Checking the indexes for 10e, Andre did die in Paris 10 May 1872 (listed as Louis Andre), and also on 19th August 1871, there is the death of a six year old boy, Etienne August Gord, son of Andre and Marguerite-Henriette.
