Ontario Death Certificates
« on: Monday 09 April 12 05:40 BST (UK) »
Hi All,
I am not sure how to find 'New Topic' in the Ontario folder.
I want to have a copy of a death certificate form for Ontario.
When I go online, I find one that is made in Nelson BC that demands $65. I believe the price in Ontario, the official form is $50. I have to fill this form out hardcopy, since I do not have a copier, I have to download then send to a friend who has a copier. I hope to send a money order or a certified cheque. I believe the city I send the form to is Thunder Bay.
Can someone help me please , post the correct place to find this death certificate form for Ontario, believing the price is $50.
Thanks,
Razzy

Hi Razzy,

What year did the death occur?

Is this a site that may contain the information you need:

Hello Razzy,

You are correct with the vital records office being in Thunder Bay. The Office of the Register Geneeral is in this Province of Ontario building at the corner of Red River and Fort William Roads. The Government of Ontario website for this is http://www.ontario.ca/en/services_for_residents/index.htm. You can order BMD records for those people that fall under the privacy act from here as long as you meet their requirements. The Archives of Ontario site given by susano hold the records that have gone public and are not any longer covered under the privacy act (90 year restriction I believe). These records are also available thru Ancestry. Ancestry can be accessed for free at some public libraries.

Hope this helps, JDC

You had a previous thread called "Ignace, Ontario" regarding a death in Ontario.  Tons of information and suggestions were supplied to you.

In reply #32 Karen gave you the link to Service Ontario and you were also supplied with current costs of between $15.00 and $22.00 for a death certificate from Ontario that does not come through a 3rd party agency.

Hi Debbie,
where is #32? I searched 37 pages under canada requests and did not find Ignace, Ontario
I am hoping I can download and fill out the form by hand.

If we are given the person's name and year of death someone may be able to find the death for you.

This should take you to the Ignace, Ontario thread and Karen's reply.

I pointed out that you had previously obtained this information on your own thread called "Ignace, Ontario".  JDC in reply #2 on this topic also provided you with the link to Service Ontario - did you not even look at that site provided?

Hi Debbie,
actually 2011 was a very bad fiscal year, I have been supporting a parent and only worked 4 months out of the whole year, this in Vancouver -quite an expensive city by any standard, ok??
oh, by the way, I am self employed (no E.I. benefits) so I am a go getter.
Thanks
