I love her, she even has her chair turned away from the others.
One of those photos where you wish you knew what was going on.

Chinakay and PaulaToo thanks for your obsevations, I agree the woman on the chair at the end does look murderous!

I have been at my mums and found another version of this photo, in worse condition but with more on it. There are two more women at the other end of the photo , one standing next to the man and one seated in front of her. She also has her chair turned, it makes the photo look more posed and balanced than before. I will try to scan the other photo, but it will not be until this evening as we have a family celebration today.

Saddles, Wow! that is lovely, thank you so much. I have become rather fond of the scary lady, perhaps a smile would not suit her anyway! I really appreciate your work, thank you.

This is the complete photo as I mentioned in my earlier post. Now we have two scary women one at each end!! I still don't recognise anyone except my grandma.

Oh dear, do you think they had just had an argument?
oh I would have loved to be behind the camera to know what was going on!
Lovely photo, full of character ... and characters.

Just a thought, did Grandma work as nanny to another family?
It might just be that this was the family, and the two children were her small charges ...

There are definitely family resemblances, aren't there.  For example, the young man looks certain to be the son of the older man on the right, in the hat.
