1901 Frederick Johnson (who is poss John Frederick Wass) has a 7 yr old Lily Johnson with him (b.Grantham) both are boarders with Clara Brannan - wonder whose child Lily is???

It looks to me that Lily would probably be poor Sarahs child by her age.
As she is 7 years old she could have been born 1894 when Sarah died.
So maybe she died in childbirth.
Why he has changed his name we will probably never know.
I wonder if he was trying to avoid something or someone.
He had quite a life from what we have found out.
I am not surprised your Mum didnt know anything about
him. Children were seen and not heard up to about 1970
in this Country.
