William Clowes born 12/3/1780 Burslem, Staffs
« on: Friday 06 April 12 21:20 BST (UK) »
I wonder if anyone can please help me with William Clowes. I think he married Hannah Rogers, but I cant seem to find out if they had any children and when or where they would have been born. I also think his father was Samuel Clowes and mother Ann Wedgwood, but I cant find out if he had any siblings or what their names were or when they would have been born.  I need to tie him into a family tree somehow but am stuck.    Any help with this would be most appreciated. What makes you think he married Hannah Rogers? I can see two marriages in the same year Wiliam Clowes to Hannah Roger(s) at St Giles Newcastle-u-Lyme in 1800 and William Rogers to Ann Lowndes at Stoke in 1800.
Records worth looking at (if you haven't already) are Stoke parish records, Newcastle, Longton, and Liverpool (as many potters from Burslem went to work at the Herculaneum pottery there between 1795 - 1840)

HI Zen,
Thankyou very much, this information could be just what I am looking for, it all sounds right, even the William Clewes bit because he was born on 12/3/1780.
With a bit more luck, I may be able to tie him in to the family tree through his siblings.
Thankyou for your time and trouble, this is much appreciated. Kind regards, Cockneygirl.
