Hi
I am trying to trace an ancestor of mine and if any one can help i would be grateful
the person i am trying to trace is as follows: John Whittaker he was born about 1753 possibly around Northallerton
he Died in 1838 in Brompton near Northallerton
He married Elizabeth Hirdman on the 18th of May 1879 at Brompton near Northallerton
I am trying to trace johns parents

Can't help you with John's parents but I thought his burial may be of interest.
John WHITTAKER was buried 19th January 1838 at St Thomas, Brompton by Northallerton, Yorkshire North Riding, aged 85.

hi fred are the dates right on your post as you have john born 1753 married 1879 burried 1838 dave

Sorry about that he was married 18th of may 1789
Got my 8 and 7 the wrong way round

hi fred found johns and eliz children mary 21/3/1790 jane 19/2/1792 thomas 17/8/1794 william 22/1/1790 ive only found one john whittaker born 16/7/1753 st peters howden i think thats near goole it has his father as a william dave
