Hi Anne,

I just saw your message and was wondering if anyone has helped with your request? If not, why not do as I did and contact the library in Cork City yourself. I needed the same kind of information and found them to be most helpful. I contacted Kieran Burke and he kindly looked up the information for me.

Good luck.

Kathleen.

If you're in Melbourne I know its at Melbourne Uni and also Latrobe Uni on microform. Mostly complete.
It seems also to be at UNSW. Macquarie has a few years from 1840.
The National Library Of Australia site can search and locate books, journals etc in Australia.

Hi,

I don't know if you have already had some one else do this look up for you
but I did it recently for you.  Details as follows-

BLOOD - August 14, of inflamation of the lungs, Major Francis Gamble Blood, late of the 69th Regt.,son of the late Colonel J. Aylward Blood, late fo the 68th Light
Infantry.

This particular Blood family is in the Peerage -site  http://thepeerage.com/p28234.htm

There were some Blood families living in Co. Cork earlier in 1800's and also Co. Clare.

Many thanks Mary

I live about 1 1/2 hours Melbourne so was going to follow up another posters suggestion about films in Melbourne at some stage.

He died in London so I was curious about what the entry might say. I will contemplate the implications but appreciate very much the transcription.

Anne

You are welcome, I did try to find some write up about him in the newspapers and
went through from 14 August up to 22nd approx and nothing extra.

Are you directly related to this man?

I have a few newspaper transcriptions from early 1800's for the Bloods.

I am related to his wife.  She was the daughter of my 3*great grandmother by her first marriage.  Francis Gamble Blood and his wife Charlotte Constance née James had a son but he died without issue.

Many thanks
Anne

If you google the Index of Irish Death Notices "B" , Francis Gamble Blood is mentioned.
