McKenzie of Wishaw
« on: Sunday 01 April 12 20:23 BST (UK) »
Hello, I am trying to trace the father of Kenneth McKenzie born 11.06.1875 in Wishaw Lanarkshire. I believe his parets to be Alexander McKenzie and mother Isabella McRae. I believe his parents were from Strathconnon, Parish of Contin. Any information on Kenneth's parents would be appreciated.

From the burial records of Cambusnethan cemetery -

DUNCAN DAVID McKENZIE, Wishaw, aged 7 weeks.
Parents - Alexander McKenzie and Isabella McRae.
Interred in common ground on 11th November 1871.

ALEXANDER McKENZIE, quarryman, Wishaw, aged 66 years, married.
Parents - Donald McKenzie & Isabella McCrae.
Interred in plot D121, 25th October 1888.

ISABELLA McKENZIE, housewife, Wishaw, aged 58 years, widow.
Parents unknown.
interred in plot D121, 14th May 1891.

STILLBORN FEMALE FREW, Wishaw.
Parents - Alexander Frew and Isabella McKenzie.
Interred in plot D121, 5th September 1899.

There may have been some confusion with the parents of Alexander who died in 1888, looks as though the widow's name was entered where his mother's name should have been. Or, his mother may also have been an Isabella McCrae, you would have to check the death certificate.
The IGI has a marriage for Aleander McKenzie and Isabella Macrae on 30th December 1853 at Urray, Ross & Cromarty.
There is also someone from Helensburgh making submissions for this family on the IGI.

I've checked the death cert  for Alexander (d. 1888) on SP as it looks as if I'd accessed it before for some reason or other. The parents are given as

Donald McKenzie, farmer (deceased) and Isabella M.S McRae (deceased)
