Rowley Regis baptism please
« on: Saturday 31 March 12 14:53 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am looking for the baptism of Emmanuel JOHNSON about 1817 in Rowley Regis. That was the birthplace given on all census returns.

No father's name was given on his marriage certificate in 1840, so I'm a bit stuck.

All records I can find online end at 1812 and I have tried FreeReg too.

Thanks for reading this.

Judy :)

Thank you very much.  :)

I thought I'd searched that site, but I don't find it as easy to access as the original.

Hi Linell

He appears to have been illegitimate and was born around 1817

Hi Linell

I'm sure there must be a connection with that earlier Emmanuel, but the one I'm looking for was definitely born around 1817 judging by his age on several census returns.

Thanks for replying. :)

Are any of his children called Aaron, where is Emmanuel on the Census?

Hi Linell

In 1841 he is living with Joseph and Sarah Hill (who are the parents of his wife Caroline) in Dudley Wood, Staffordshire.
In 1851 to 1881 he and Caroline are in Dudley Wood with their family. His sons were Edward and Enoch.
He died in 1882.  :)

Hi Judy, yes that's the same one that I found, the birth date of about 1809 is a long way out then.  The record I found has him as the son of Aaron and Lucy.
