The Catholic cemetery in Brisbane is NUDGEE cemetery.  There is no record of a burial of the
Paterson's at this cemetery.

Nundah cemetery is a historic cemetery originally for early German settlers in the Nundah district.
The first settlers were mainly Lutheran missionaries.

You could also look in Bulimba/Balmoral Cemetery if they lived at West End and aren't in Dutton Park Cemetery.

Then again, you should always try Toowong Cemetery as people from all over, are buried there.  I think it's the largest in Brisbane (one of the largest anyhow)

They aren't at Toowong, unless I missed them. See the link I posted for the online search.

They may have moved out of the area after 1963 and have died elsewhere.

If they were cremated and their ashes weren't interred I don't think there will be a record of their burials.  :-\

Hello,
Thanks very much for the searching you have done. This is a family I've been looking for, for a very long time, hampered by their common name of Taylor. I was recently sent a copy of a will which indicated a Taylor, bless her, had married a Roff, their child in turn had married a Paterson, and with their distinctive names I was able to trace them to Queensland. Very sad to read about their pilot son dying in WWII, thanks for sending me that. You have eliminated by the looks of things several cemeteries. If there is any way you can tell me other likely cemeteries near where they lived (other than the ones you mentioned) that if not online I could e-mail it would be great. You're right, they could have moved elsewhere; both would have been in their early 70s, but this is no bar to people shifting obviously. We had some neighbours in their 80s who used to shift about once every couple of years, sad to say their shift to our street was their last.
Regards,
Craig.

Looking at Qld BDM online, there is a
William PATERSON death 1963/C5883. No parents given and it says
**born Sydney, New South Wales, aged 73 years.

The C in the registration indicates country but of course be as close as places like Beenleigh or Petrie or Ipswich which are quite close to Brisbane but technically 'country' as not in Brisbane City Council area.
Not sure what the two asterisks are supposed to indicate.

Aged 73 years in 1963 he would have been born in 1890, so correct age.
No second name given, and the actual death date is 08 Nov. 1963.
They could have moved between electoral roll publication and November, from West End to 'the country'.

Looked for Nellie under Paterson and Roff but no joy, even without putting in a forename. Was Nellie her actual name or was it Helen or maybe even Petronella with a surname of Roff?
Just realised I only looked 1962-63 but I'll go back and look at 1964 which is as far as they go.

ADD:  No joy for 1964 either, under Paterson, unless whoever gave the information gave totally wrong parent names -  only an Alice with parents John & Sarah and an Annie Venters with parents George & Madeliene (sic)
