Hi all,

Im also tracing an ancestor called Stowell/Stawell Marshall (born circa 1770, place unknown) although mine married a Jane Smith in London in 1824... anyway, I came across the following on Ancestry.co.uk:  Richard Marshall married Elizabeth Stowell of St Erme, 11 April 1638.  Source:  Cornwall Registers of Marriages 1572 - 1812.

Im wondering if this marriage was the start of the Stowell Marshall name that seems to crop up throughout the following generations... I have seen in other branches of my family the surname of a wife being used as first names in furture generations.
