Thomas McGowan married Annie Patton on 7 November 1923 at Bundoran RC Church. Thomas a blacksmith living in Ballyshannon. Fathers Edward McGowan a tailor, and James Patton a labourer.

The death of my grandfathers brother, John James, at one year may have been the reason for my father being called those names. The use of two first names seemed a bit uniusual at that time. Thank you once more for your interest and information.

Edward McGowan (a retired tailor) died 18 October 1956 at Erne Street, Ballyshannon. His daughter Rita McGowan was the informant.
