UPDATEIts been over three years since my last post about Emma Merrick and I am still looking for her baptism and parents!!!
I have trawled yet again through the parish registers and found a couple of possibilities but wanted the advice and you all on here

So number one - I found a baptism of an Emma Meret daughter of Anne base born baptised 27/07/1817. Could this be her with the name spelt wrong or wrongly transcribed as it might fit with her Aunt being Love Rodway formerly Love Merrick as Love had a sister called Anne born 1790.However the date is not a good fit as Emma married in 1826 unless this Emma was baptised as a young child in 1817 not as a baby.Emma has had her birth date listed as anything from 1809 to 1811.
Number two - I found a baptism of an Emma Merrett daughter of John Merrett and Maria baptised 17/11/1811 in Almondsbury . I know the name is not Merrick but maybe again a mis spelt name or maybe she was a Merrett not Merrick but then how does that fit with her Aunt being Love Rodway formerly Merrick.Love did have a brother called John but he would have been too young to have a daughter born in 1811.However the area and date fits as Almonsbury was in the chapelry of Northwick which included Almondsbury,Henbury,Aust and Olverston.Emma has been listed as being born in Henbury and Stoke Gifford and they are all within a few miles of each other.
I guess another thought could be that Love was actually her mother not her Aunt as Love was unmarried at the time of Emma's birth but was married to James Rodway in 1813 just two years later.
This is proving to be such a headache and any fresh ideas on where to look and any fresh thoughts would be appreciated
