Hello
I am trying to find some information regarding Adolphus Frederick Slade born circa 1805 in Battersea London and his parents, also his wife Charlotte Amelia Hulme and her parents, they were my great great great grandparents. Their son Sidney Herbert born circa 1855 in Kent was my great great grandfather, Sidney immigrated to Australia (where I live) and married twice, his son Walter Edgar from his first marriage being my great grandfather. I don't know if I am on the right track as some of the dates I have don't seem to match. Walter's daughter was my grandmother Ida Caroline Victoria Slade, she died in 1986 in South Australia.

Not too sure what dates you already know for sure with regards to this family, so apologies if you already have the following.....

27th Aug 1844

Adolphus Frederick SLADE of full age Bachelor Gentleman of Claremont Cottage Battersea Fields Father = Henry SLADE Gentleman

Charlotte Amelia HULME Minor Spinster of New Dorset Place Clapham Road Father = Henry Preedy HULME Gentleman

Both bride and groom signed
Witnesses were Henry Preedy HULME, Emily HULME Frederick SLADE and ?? SLADE



Given that Aldophus' father was Henry, then this could well be his Baptism..

Adolphus Frederick son of Henry and Ann Catherine SLADE was born on the 24th Feb 1804 and Christened on the 29th of March 1805.

Looking at the 1851 census Charlotte was born c1825 so 20 years younger than Adolphus.
1841 he is with his first wife Ann and she is 10 years older than Adolphus.  No children with them in 1841

Henry Preedy HULME of the Parish of Cliffe in the County of Kent, Bachelor and Charlotte SPURRELL of this Parish, Spinster were married in this Church by License this 8th day of November 1823. Both bride and groom signed. Witnesses were John HULME and Mary Ann SPURRELL

Henry SLADE of the Parish of St Andrew Holborn London, Bachelor and Ann Catherine DREW of the Parish of All Hallows the Less, Spinster, were married in this Church by Licence this 18th day of December 1790. Both bride and groom signed. Witnesses were Elizabeth DREW and John DREW

He is also with an Ellen.....  could they be his sisters??

ADDED.... Baptism Records show an Ann and an Ellen to Henry and Ann Catherine SLADE at about the right time to match those on the 1841 with Adolphus....
