Weybridge Surrey Co. Parker death in 1876
« on: Tuesday 17 May 05 03:03 BST (UK) »
I just got the death cert. of Benjamin Parker but there are no details on it,  like next of kin, where buried, where he lived. It has occupation, death date and how he died that's it. Even the informant was just the Surrey coroner. I need someone in England, Weybridge would be great, to tell me if this is all that is on a death certs. in England? and how do I take this info and find out more details? Are there newpapers for the area of Weybridge and date of 29 July 1876, at a main library in Chertsey?  I am finding brickwalls everywhere I turn.  :-\
Thank you for your time

Hi

That sounds about normal for most English & Welsh death certificates see:

http://www.dixons.clara.co.uk/Certificates/deaths.htm

Hopefully somebody more local to the area can direct you to the old newspapers.

You could also enquire with the Surrey History Centre as to the survival/availability of coroner's inquests - they would also be able to direct you to the newspapers.

Thank you so much for the sites Casalguidi. that is pretty interesting to see how they determined what was to go in each space. So I learned that he died in Weybridge on the 29 of July in 1876 and it is #220 on the register. I found out what the P.M was Post Mortem. and there was an inquest. It was sudden heart disease.  I will check out the site at the History Center and see about that inquest. thanks again for your help. Now if I could just find someone that lives in Weybridge that would be great,
