This is great information - He was a lot older than Hannah.   In 1881 he was widowed and married to Hannah but living with the children of his first marriage and Hannah was living separately.

He must have been an interesting man - the help you have given is much appreciated Karenlee.

I looked up our house in 1911 Census and found Percy and Daisy Hammett, nee Ashdown, living here. She a music publisher, employer, aged 24 and he secretary to music publisher, aged 29 and born in Scotland. They were married in 1908 in Hampstead and had moved to Finchley to live in our house when it was first built. I am curious to know what happened to them?!

Hello Luder,

A big welcome to RootsChat. :)

It must be exciting to find the occupants of your house in the census!

Hi

Welcome to Rootschat.

If you look at 1901 you can see that her father (Edwin d1912? Hampstead)
and an elder brother were music publishers too.

In 1901 it looks like they lived "yards" apart, he a student in Primrose Hill Rad, she in King Henrys Road.
(Hampstead NW3)
