Hi,i need help with finding birth parents of John Smith b1837,census results say born Coleorton Leicestershire.
Wife Elizabeth.census sugests b1848??brockmor Staffs.
living Linton Heath Derbyshire,then Church Gresley,Derbyshire.
( was John married twice? )

For starters 

1881/91/01 give Elizabeths place of birth as Brockmoor

In 1871 they are resident at Brockmoor, Staffordshire
Elizabeth age 25 bn Kingswinford (Brockmoor crossed out)

From the 1871 census John and Elizabeth have the following children
James 14
Samuel 13
Benjamin 5
Elizabeth 3
Maria 2 months

It looks from this census as though she could be his 2nd wife due to gap between Samuel age 13 and Benjamin 5

John Smith 24 bn Worcestershire
Athialat Smith 21 bn Kingswinford
James Smith 3 bn Kingswinford
Samuel Smith 11 Months bn Kingswinford

But still unable to find the  parents of John b1837 .

coleorton would come under Ashby de la Zouch registration district. possible from freebmd;

SMITH  John    dec 1838  Ashby de la Zouch  15 / 3

 but of course he could come before sept 1837 cut off date for site. also see in the 1861listed  his pob is worcestershire - where does it say Leics, coleorton?

You really need a marriage certificate to get fathers details (hopefully)  Smith is far too common to take a guess on.

with  moor children in 1891.
