Burial in Greenwich 1988
« on: Wednesday 21 March 12 17:09 GMT (UK) »
Hi there,
I was hoping that somebody can help me. My friend lost contact with her dad when she was 7 (over 40 years ago)
She always wondered what happened to him and had no luck trying to trace him.
She's just found out he passed away June 1988 in the Greenwich area of London. She would really love to visit his grave but has no idea where to start (neither do I!)
Can anybody help to find where he is buried or tell me how to go about this? Many many thanks
Mandy

By 1988 there would be a strong possibility that he might have been cremated rather then buried.
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

No, he was definately buried, a distant relative knows where but won't tell her, very frustrating  ???

Hi

Have you contacted the London borough of Greenwich cemetery office to see whether he is buried in any of their cemeteries? In requesting any search in London borough cemetery records it will help to have a copy of the death certificate so you know the exact date of death and place so it is easier to search for a short period after the death and in the nearest cemetery first. Boroughs charge for searching their registers so knowing exact details will help.

Greenwich cemetery details
