Hi,

On the 1911 census there is a 'convent boarding school' as it calls itself listed  at blackley prestwich. But the boarders are listed as 'inmates!'
My great aunt Elizabeth Welsh aged eleven is one of them.
Could this be the convent of the Good Shepherd'
why would an eleven year, old both parents alive, and together be sent there?

Any  suggestions orinfo greatly apppreciated.

                Thanks Annie 3

To be educated - there are many census entries for children at boarding schools whose parents were still alive

There is a Convent High School, Blackley Park, with Eugenie Savage,  Sister Superior as head.
