Tamworth + Lichfield marriage.

Can anyone look at parish registers for marriages, Tamworth and Lichfield.

Sep 1/4 1881 Harlaston Tamworth. Harriet Till + Arthur Banton

Jun 1/4 1897 St. Chad Lichfield. Harriet Banton + Arthur Pickering

Want to know fathers names and any more information, many thanks. :)

havent got the parish registers but according to the censuses after he is married to harriett till arthur banton was born in lichfield in 1847
and on the 1851/1861 census he is with his parents. william banton born about 1789 in derbyshire and mary banton born about 1805 in pelsall,staffs

Thanks for the information, i want to find Harriets fathers name. I hoped it would be on a parish register.

Hi,

According to 1891 Census Harriet Banton nee Till was born abt 1853 Harleston, Staffordshire.

These records are on:-

 www.familysearch.org

When the search page opens, you will see a search by Batch Number, click on this and enter in
the batch number box C037961, which is the batch number for christenings at Harleston, Staffs.

If you enter Harriet Till in the name boxes, you will get only one result:-

Harriet Till Christening  15th Aug 1852 dau of Thomas Till and Sarah.

Using the same batch number, and just entering Till in the Surname Box will produce lots of Till Christenings.

I'm planning to go to Lichfield Archives some time this week, so I'll have a look for you.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Harlaston - baptims 15 August 1852 - Harriet, daughter of Thomas and Sarah Till of Harlaston.  Thomas is a Labourer.

Unfortunately the marriage registers for Harlaston are not on microfiche - they are deposited at Stafford Record Office, and can be viewed there.

St Chad, Lichfield - 18 April 1897 by Banns.  Arthur Pickering 35, bachelor, Gardener of Birmingham Road.  Father Joseph Pickering (deceased) Labourer.
Harriet Banton, 40, widow, no occupation, of Beacon Street.  Father Thomas Till (deceased), Labourer.
Witnesses:  Thomas Stevens and Edith Alice Johnson.
