Thanks for the offer Carole. I think I will need to wait for the 1921 census to find my grandfather.
Ellen and John William's mother was Ellen PRESCOTT who never married. She is on the 1891 and 1911 Censuses and claims to be a widow. She misses the other census years.
Ellen senior had 6 children. I have birth certificates for all of them. I have baptism for the first 3 that say the parents are James and Ellen, but the birth certificates indicate that Ellen was not married. This is confirmed by other details. The children are:

John William and Sarah Jane had 3 children. Sarah Jane died of Typhoid in 1906 and John William left the kids in Liverpool and supposedly went to the United States and was never seen again.
However, there is a story that someone claimed to see him at his mother's funeral in 1938. Also, my first cousin told me a few years ago that he had been thought to be in the US but they found him living with his sister. Then there is the story that Ellen might have moved in with a brother. Hence, my query regarding Hollywood Road.
I have been unable to find my grandfather in the US, nor have I been able to identify a death in England. I have found a man that appears to be him on a passenger list about 1910, returning from the far east. But, I can't say for sure that it is him.
