Rawleigh Davis

I am trying to find any information about Rawleigh Davis, my 6th great grandmother. She was born about 1670 and died in February 1719 in Grendon Underwood, Bucks. Her father was Richard Davis. Rawleigh married John Lovell my 6th great grand father on 16 April 1693 in St Leonards Church Grendon Underwood Bucks. Any more information would be most welcome.

How do you know that Rawleigh's father is called Richard ?

I found this reference on the Cooke family tree via Ancestry.co.uk. This reference also shows Rawleigh as being born in Alverstoke Hants. I think this is a mistake and the birth place is more likely to have been Alverscot in Oxon. Much nearer to the Lovells.

Ah, the dreaded Ancestry trees, I see that it also has her dying in the USA.  ;D

It might be a good idea to put a request on the Oxfordshire boards for a look up in Alvescot and surrounding parishes registers for the christening.

There are no Davis baptisms on Oxford FHS PR disc for Alvescot.
